One Single Impression: Miracle

From March 4, 2012
Textbook poems loiter
The sleepy child turns away:
"It's raining!"

(The miracle in this poem was for me the moment this child lived a haiku poem though she was disengaged from the beauties in our textbook.  She had an enlightened moment, though she didn't see it that way when I pointed it out to her!)

  1. It's wonderful to be able to help children recognize the beauty in what they have seen and their ability to express that wonder in words.
