My daughter and her cousins made the round at the annual church carnival in Newtown last weekend. They had a great time; they are good at that.

Walking around, I couldn't help smiling at the irony of all the grotesque images used to entice kids to come and play for the benefit of a church. Still, it's all full of life and good in my book.

So much color, so much imagination, so many good people showing their kids a good time.

That is funny. You'd think they would scare the children away. Good shots.
Color certaintly captures our eye, doesn't it. Great shots. MB
Those are fun paintings!
Those are some vivid shots! Bet the girls and all the kids had a ton of fun.
I love the tiger. RRRROOAAARRRRR!
Peace - D
Whoa, Sandy, these images are incredible! I suggested to my nephew in Boston that the next time we come visit him we do a graffiti tour. He liked that idea! :)
Hi Sandy, Just stopping by for a peak. Great Pop Art. I don't know if kids see anything except the color. Usually their attention is elsewhere. Pappy
Ah the fun of the traveling carnival!
Those are nice looking art! Interesting:)
That first photo is amazing!
Good shots!
Great photos! Kids should really have a good time when it comes to church. Others just don't want to visit one anymore because of the harsh and stiff environment.
Have a great week, Sandy!
they do look kind of scary ... but the colors are great! :)
Very colorful and lively, the tiger looks frightening though.

I like the vivid colours but some kids do get scared of such paiintings. My toddler son for instance. Why wasn't he as brave as his Mom? sigh...
Brilliant colours! Fun faces!

Kids just love to be scared! I think it's important mental exercise to help them cope with stress in later life.
The tiger seem out of place..but all in the good fun :)
alright, I have to ask. is this the saint rose carnival that you are talking about? i grew up in Newtown but haven't lived there in decades.
Interesting arts!! I'm sure all kids will be enticed to examine them more closely!
Have a good week Sandy and thanks fro sharing your pictures.
Hmmm - I agree with that part of you that finds some of the images a bit grotesque. I loved the tiger - very real, very colourful, and some seriously good art, but whether it is part of the church's message etc. is another thing. Anyway, it certainly is colourful and artistic, and you got some great shots.
Off topic - you did a great interview at David's Sunday Roast. I really enjoyed it.
