  6. I'm conflicted. Back in the day when the NRA was not run by morons they were big into gun safety. I took several NRA gun safety and shooting classes and got very comfortable with firearms and learned how to shoot, clean, and store the weapons safely. All under the close supervision of my father of course.

I am not into guns now and don't own one but I know lots of responsible gun owners who continue to teach their kids the responsible use and care of weapons.I don't feel a bit threatened by those folks.

It is the morons among us who mouth about keeping weapons to protect themselves against the government that worry me. Also, I don't think there is a not a legitimate use in the world for large clip rifles.

The second amendment references to a "well regulated militia" I think we have a right and a responsibility to regulate the ownership of guns.

  7. I will admit it.
I own a gun and yes, I enjoy shooting.
And I know many, many people that own guns. They hunt, they skeet shoot, they too enjoy target practice. And many teach their kids the responsible use of guns. Owning a gun is a right and a big responsibility..and yes, a part of many people's culture.
Is that ad tasteless? Maybe..but then many are.
But I do not fear law abiding owners...I fear those that own illegal purchased weapons, which obviously all the laws in the world will have little effect on because they KNOW THEY ARE ALREADY BREAKING THE LAW AND DO NOT CARE!

  9. That's unbelievable ! I thought it was a joke !! Guns are strictly forbidden in Belgium and in the other European countries ! A shame to use children as sales target ! Hope that at least the parents are not idiots !

  10. Would have thought advertising guns for kids 0- should be against the law.

  12. Scary stuff! And around here guns and drugs seem to go together, though for teenagers, not for 8 year olds.

  13. I want to cry. Bill is watching TV news as I read/write and they are reporting that over 70 people were killed by guns TODAY (only).

  15. Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE kill people. As for the ad, it's a matter of opinion as to whether it qualifies as crass or tasteless, but it's nowhere near as egregious as the violent movies cranked out daily by Hollyweird, most of them aimed at kids whose parents take them to sit watching blood, gore, and GUN VIOLENCE for two-plus hours at a time, thereby putting at least a tacit stamp of approval on said gun violence. Stallone's latest movie is named "Bullet To The Head" but I never hear anyone whining about that. Just step up and buy Junior his popcorn, then settle in for the show. But don't bother to teach him that he should cherish the Constitution which ensures those filmmakers the right to sell that trash. And yes, that includes the Second Amendment, the purpose of which is to protect Americans from a tyrannical government. Molon Labe: Come and take them. If you can.
