[My Topsail photos are hard for me to look at right now. Leaving broke my heart. I had the opportunity to stay, but it would have been at the expense of being without my daughter for a while and of making very little money. More and better might have been around the corner (and, as it turns out, they were), but I couldn't risk losing my favorite person and my ability to support her for my own shot at paradise. Perhaps I could have had both if only I had taken the leap--as I would have years ago, before another life (lives; we can't forget Clyde) depended on me. Life is full of hard decisions. I wonder if a second chance will ever come my way. I live in hope. It's all I have.]

I beleive in magic and second chances are even better than magic and they definitely happen. Hang on to those photos. Something even better will happen.
Well, you certainly made my day! I tried to get photos of the moon last night but the cloud cover kept ruining the shot when it appeared. . . and the last two days, the noon was orangish because of the wildfires they say. Thanks for sharing your view!
Where there's a will, there is a way Sandy. You will find a way to make this work. Of course you can't abandon your daughter but there must be another solution so that you can all be happy. I hope you find it and soon. Life flies by and before we know it, the choices aren't what they had been.
I hate these kinds of choices. Feels like I've made a lot of them lately. Hoping you get all the second chances you need and with much less difficult choices behind them.
I'm praying you will. I was at Wrightsville and chose to leave for certain reasons. No regrets, but it was hard. David was 8 and it was best for him to be here.

Some of the decisions we have to make are not only hard, but painful many times. You did what you felt was the right thing at the time. I continue to hold good thoughts that another and even better chance will find you! Awesome capture and a glorious way to end a day -- anytime, anywhere!

A beautiful glow in your sky! Choices sometimes are so difficult! And then we may be left wondering whether the right one was made! But if a choice is made for a good reason involving others' welfare as well as your own, then the choice is right for now! It is the selfish decision that sets dark problems in motion!
If something is meant to happen it will. All is as it should be, even when it hurts. And there will always be 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances. God knows I am living on extra chances. Life can be a do-over. ;-)
That's a gorgeous shot Sandy. I'm sorry it has been so hard. In your place I wouldn't have been able to risk it if it meant being apart from my daughter either. The time when they're home is so short as it is. My daughter hasn't lived near me since she went off to college in 2003, except for a few months between undergrad and law school when she worked and lived here. I'm glad I had her with me until she went off to college.
Choices were a lot easier when it was just me. With others, choices get harder, lots harder. I've learned though that if something is meant to happen a second chance will appear that is often better than the first opportunity.

I'm sorry you are feeling disappointed Sandy...sometimes life gives us hard choices, sometimes life is just hard...and then we remember the blessings, like being with your daughter and having photo memories of a place that gives you joy.
A magical shot for sure! You made a difficult decision but I'm sure you will find rewards because of it in the future. Perhaps time is the essential factor.
