Here is a Topsail morning. I remember it. I remember the sun being ahead of me and my pushing it off to the side and the surf. There is a subtlety to the tide, to the right moment for swimming. This past summer, 11 a.m. was the golden hour for the most beautiful of times to interact with the tide. There. For me. The rest of the day and night was for watching. Every morning, I would walk to the pier and back, and when I was alone, I liked to put the camera down, turn left, and step into that water....and let it be. So beautiful. So easy. Where else to be? Honestly, I don't know, and I have yet to hear a compelling argument for or from anywhere else.

I see that you are still there. What a place to be.
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvellous place! Seems to me it's both a geographical location and a place in your heart.
ReplyDeleteI think LadyFi said it perfectly! It is such a gorgeous place and I know I would feel exactly the same way were I there. Have a wonderful weekend, Sandy!

Surely you left part of your soul there. You must retrieve it some day or just join with it and stay. I can surely understand why you love it so.
ReplyDeleteYour beach is calling Sandy, it's not letting go...
ReplyDeleteSummer wishes, winter dreams.
May it all come together, in the best way possible.

ReplyDeleteI haven't been in that place for awhile, but it sounds like a place I want to be right now. Perhaps if I remember hard enough I can put it into my heart for when the days are gloomy.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky shot!
ReplyDeleteSky Watch at my page.
The magic of such vivid solitude compounded in nostalgic colourful words that reminds me of my own personal withdrawal from the world in a similar setting but of opposite time.
ReplyDeleteMiss Skywatch ... but I needed to go away ...
Beautiful image and I love the title of this post, at times our senses melt together...

If we can find that contentment and appreciation where ever we are, than we are lucky. Something nibbles on your toes....
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo! It is hard to totally concentrate on the sky though since the whole scene is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a wonderful job of describing (and picturing) the peace of a morning at the beach.
ReplyDeleteThe flare of the sun is like telling us it doesn't want to fade.
ReplyDeleteThe ocean has always been such a special place for me. When I was 15 and sitting on the shore, I realized and begin to believe in God.
ReplyDeleteI've never taken ocean photos like you do though...gorgeous.
I can actually imagine what you're trying to say about the tide, surf and swim... Reminds me of my last visit to Palolem Beach in South Goa!! It was early morning and such ideal conditions to swim... blue waters, small islands showing at distance!! Wow..
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have such an intimate interaction with the sea.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
