One Single Impression: Hollow

Hollow bunny,
I crush you and
With my tongue
Trace your contours,
The illusion of substance.

You are not enough.
You never satisfy,

Though your wrapper

Is as pretty

As a spring day.

  1. I believe the chocolate love in you has been exposed. Nothing hollow about that. The Easter Bunny will be making note of that.

  2. So cute and so true. A hollow bunny, never satisfies. It makes one aware that we want substance.

    Have a great weekend Sandy.

  3. That's what all chocolate lovers say! Me? I could do without. . . except I do love chocolate licorice. . .

  9. Great poem and I NEED to remember this "you do not satisfy" whenever I contemplate eating things that are a moment on the lips, lifetime on the hips :)

  10. O chocolate bunnies! Cute characters! but sadly, often with "no substance"! A fun and slightly ironic piece of writing!

  11. Though I am hollow
    when in my empty brain
    I still try to satisfy
    and chocolate you insane.

  12. This made me smile, as I agree with you. Never was much for chocolate bunnies, they appeared so mundane and I loved fillings, which they lacked.;) But the wrapping was always enticing to me thus I often kept them.;))
    Have a lovely Sunday,
    xoxo

Man, still another month away, though. Even if they're not quite as satisfying as the could/should be, there's a perverse pleasure in biting off bunny chunks. :)

  23. Yum! Hollow bunny...delicious! I can see how this little rabbit cannot satisfy once the chocolate has been consumed. This is a delicious poem Sandy.
