My World Tuesday: At the Shop

Tool fence

Wrecker

I noticed these objects of art while my car was undergoing an emissions check not so long ago. The top image is a fence made of cast-off tools. The fence is outside the office to the mechanic's office. The sport's car in the bottom shot was getting a little work done while its antique relation stayed out of the sun and out of the spotlight. I expected ol' Gomer Pyle to come round the corner and offer to clean my windshield.

  7. If I'm not very much mistaken, the "aging relation" is a 1953 Ford Pickup with the flathead V8. And a very well maintained/restored specimen at that. Can't see enough of the car to tell what it is. Looks like it might be a sprint racer though.

Nice work in any case. Love the "sculpture"... my kind of art!

  13. just watched an old black and white movie last night from the 1930s and appreciate how much cars have changed. Imagine driving with no air conditioning?

  25. Who says junk is useless? A wonderful world of reuse, recycle and repost (this post hehe)!

Here down under, we say, "someone's trash is another's treasure". Surely the fence owner here has an impressionable state of art.

  37. Great shots! I like the composition of the sports car and old truck. The recycling of the tools makes for an artistic fence. Just shows what a little imagination and skill with a welder can create. There is a sculpture in one of Frederick's parks that is made from old parts (probably farm machinery).
