I love browsing in antique shops. You find the most fascinating items. Then you want to take it home with you. BUT your husband says NO. :)

  10. Something very British about this image. It's the vintage aspect. I keep hearing Agatha Christie in my head.

One of those sleds could be my old sled "Betsy." I don't know what happened to it. The first photo reminds me of the old fur coat I bought used in the early 1970's.

  35. I have never seen such old sleds! If it was here, they would be in a museum.

Maybe the people here used them as firewood during the war? That is a sad thought. I am glad to have seen your photo.

  36. And always a need for sleds! Great shots!

I love that first photo and I kind of like that black coat. We had sleds like that in the orphanage, along with a hill that we were able to sled down on. Great memories.

Those are wonderful shop fronts. I have a sled very similar to the middle one shown which I got for Christmas around 1965. It worked well for my daughter in the 1980s and 1990s when she was growing up too. Ah memories.

    I kid. Nice pair.

    Of shots... jeez!

  54. Real sleds! That brings back memories. I used to have one. I bet they don't even make them anymore. Too dangerous, I suppose.

    ReplyDelete

  56. I like the first picture with the coats.

It's interesting - the mid-century modern things that I'm into are also now considered vintage :)

I think I used to own that sled!

  61. What wonderful memories that brought back for me! I loved sledding on sleigh hill in my hometown in Idaho. The clothing reminds me of a shop we have in uptown vancouver -- it is called Diva and the models in the storefront always have soem old clothing on it. There are people that like those kinds of clothes and wear them regularly today! You got two neat photos filled with manymemories of others. . . ah! the good old days!
