The warmth of late spring has been slow in coming this year, so we've had a wonderful season of slow-blooming, long-lasting flowering trees. Watching the rhododendron blossom has been like living inside a time lapse movie. A little, a little more, a little more....Soon they'll all be open and the bees will be fast at work and making the sounds that remind me summer will be here soon. It's nice to take the time to enjoy it.

ReplyDeleteThis is a very unique blog - I love the very grounded mix of faith, love, nature, textures of life.
ReplyDeleteYour quote today reminded me of a show I saw a long time ago about a nature educator working with inner-city youngsters, showing them leaves, flowers, having wild animals brought into the classroom from an animal rehab center, the works.
When questioned about his passion for sharing the joy of nature with kids so cut off from it, he responded with a quote that stuck in my head. He said, "You can't understand what you don't know - and you can't love what you don't understand." Just seeing that chain effect really was good for me.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog on Skywatch Friday. I'm glad it led me to your blog, it's lovely! Bonnie
Hi Sandy
ReplyDeleteI think these rhododendron blossoms take some beating at times... I have one in the front garden that is flowering at the moment and is full of bees.
There's a blossom just waiting for a bee. Oh, how appetizing. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture! I also love the quote you used here. That is so true!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful shot that I almost feel like I'm touching the blossom. I love the quote by Rev. Denison. Great thought to ponder on this Sunday before Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!!

gorgeous flower, love the colors :) happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful picture. I love spring time. I miss the flowers from Wisconsin where I grew up. We recently moved to California. The flowers out here are also beautiful but very different from what I am used to. I miss seeing the purple coneflowers blooming along the countryside and the sweet smell of lilacs. Thank you for sharing that beautiful photo!
