Yesterday evening, my daughter and I attended Sandy Hook School Principal Dawn Hochsprung's visiting hours in our hometown of Woodbury, where she was our neighbor and, once, my daughter's principal. There her husband and family stood, tall and gracious, inviting and grateful. It was our privilege to stand among them. May peace come to their hearts. And to ours.

How incredibly sad. But as you've said, in times like this, community and a sense of hope are what keep people going, in spite of the pain. In a measure, in small but significant ways, it helps.

You, your daughter and the whole community that has suffered so much at what is supposed to be the most beautiful, loving season of the year, are in my thoughts and prayers. It is hard to even imagine something like this happening - again and again and yet so many still yelling for more guns! It's sad, it's discouraging. When do we grow up??? This carries being a "young country" too far!!

ReplyDeleteA real sad week for the many innocent life lost,hopefully something can be done in banning of those high powered guns.Could too much violent video games be one of the cause?

ReplyDeleteOh Sandy! I was wondering how close you were to this sad tragedy! How many times have I cried about this. Today of all days I am thinking of those parents and all they have lost. It is so encouraging to see all the good people and the good things that are happening because of this, but I know as a mother I would trade it all just to have my child back!
