Raise the fence
Let the sun rise
The wind blow
The seasons change
Time passes through
What you draw
What you make
What you are
Let the sun rise
The wind blow
The seasons change
You are the time
The wind blow
The seasons change
Time passes through
What you draw
What you make
What you are
Let the sun rise
The wind blow
The seasons change
You are the time
That passes,
The line that blurs,
You are the fence
That will
In time
Need mending.
Need mending.
Draw the line.

ReplyDeleteYour picture and yor words is like meditation to me.. :)
This old fence is always in need of mending. I like this analogy.

ReplyDeleteYes, this fence needs mending - a little more each day, as time passes.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem Sandy.
You use the fence as a great analogy. Excellently done.
ReplyDeleteLiterally now; in Nebraska we took our snow fences down come spring when they weren't needed. They required less repair for another season's use that way. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Devil made me write that, Sandy. Sorry, ;)

To me this speaks of not just soul, but also of time.;) Love the fence reflection in the sand that truly moves with time, just like a sun dial. And what better represents time, than sand.;)

I really love this! The fence can be our soul, but the fence can also be our personal boundaries in life. This is one of my favorites so far today!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful poem. Truly we do all need to have some mending occasionally. Great comparison.
ReplyDeleteAh, the soul needs the cycle of renewal, just as the seasons change and the fence needs mending.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice image, Sandy, with the shadow and the blue sky.
ReplyDeleteVery fine poem too.
I have missed your beautiful words- which always, truly touch my heart and soul- this is no exception.
ReplyDeleteYou are the time that passes the line that blurs.A heart-rendering
ReplyDeletephrase. This poem captures all that the soul is and hopes to be.
