What admission
Buys entry to the heart?
Not
I love you.
Not
I want you.
Not
I need you.
Not even
You are beautiful
Or
You are all I need.
These are the cheap tickets
bought with counterfeit coin.
The way in?
I am here.
Be with me.
And, once, in a while,
How are you?

Being with someone, sharing your time and feelings-those things show you care. Have a nice week, Sandy. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteWell that's all kinds of beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI always ask "how are you" with a warm smile on my face so that my friends will dig deep for the good in their lives and not spout the petty little inconveniences of life that pass away soon enough...something I learned from my mother...lessons from Mama have always served me well...think I will entitle my next book exactly that...Lessons from Mama...what doyou think?

Truer than true. Also, how are you? *smiles*
ReplyDeleteOh so true. The little things like saying, "how are you" "thanks dear" "hope you have a great day" ....they are the words that add up to love and living well with someone else. this is very good Sandy. Simple but powerful words here.

Being together, just a brief eye contact, we both just know.
ReplyDeleteThis poem of yours broke my heart. I learned today that one of my tiny little 7 year old Sunday School students died this morning. You tell this person, for me, to wise up and love now. Open up. It's never too late. Little Kaitlyn has has reminded me what is important.
ReplyDeleteYes Actions speak louder than words. :)
