The singular flip-flop, like the forgotten umbrella on a rainy day or the abandoned winter coat in January, always leaves me wondering. How and why? I imagine some poor soul hopping all the way to the car? It's an image that makes me smile.

The picture hints at all kinds of possibilities as to why the abandoned flip flop.
ReplyDeleteThanks. And thanks for going back to my blog and letting me know you were there.
I've seen similar things at the beach and had thoughts of "what did they do next?"
ReplyDeleteOf course that sandal looks pretty well useless. I've never seen that particular failure before.
In engineering terms we would say "Its structural integrity was compromised."
:) Charming one! It's healthy to reflect and philisophize inbetween.. Have a nice day! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat great images. Good blog.
ReplyDeleteTerrific, fun capture for the day, Sandy! I love it! There are days when I feel just like that flip flop!! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy the day!

Well, I think it was left behind on purpose -- discarded -- and the waves finally uncovered it from where the mischievous children hid it.
ReplyDeleteFoot loose and fancy free,lol.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
Hop-flopping! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful yet simple image. Speaks for itself.
ReplyDeleteMakes me smile, too :) Like the shoe by the road, someone is walking around with one shoe.
ReplyDeletei love the simplicity of the photo.

:) Yes, a sight found often, how well you have penned your thoughts about it.
ReplyDeleteI've been amazed at the number of times I've seen a single flip-flop in the sand. The next time I see one I'm going to think of your vision.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, and the B&W is perfect for this composition. Excellent work.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Good one Sandy.
ReplyDeleteSomeone, hopping, somewhere! Thanks
ReplyDeleteWhy do shoes make such good subjects for images?
ReplyDeleteAnd as the mom of four, my first thought is, "Some kid left his flip flop again."
ReplyDeleteI hope they had a spare ;)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, I like the undulating waves of both the sand and the discarded flip-flop. They fit together.
Nice picture!!
ReplyDeleteI see that someone lost this out of their beach bag while walking up to the car. Too tired to go back and look for it. Now to get rid of the ear worm. "Wastin away in Marguritavill"....
ReplyDeletethis kind of depicts life after the years, you'll then be left alone
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
