The girls were more interested in the bazaar end of things, so we saw a lot of this:
and very little of that.
Girls are girls are girls! Trailing behind, I got a glimpse of a few other things that looked interesting--and will very likely be there next year, so I'll try again then.

These shots are all wonderful... but that first one is awesome, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteI love county fairs in agricultural places. I grew up in San Mateo County, half of which is densely populated suburbia and the other half, at least used to be agricultural, with the primary crop being flowers. Our county fair was a "Floral Fiesta."
ReplyDeleteyou made me feel like i was there snapping :) great shots we will go to the state fair in a couple of weeks.,
ReplyDeleteI'm not a photographer and your photos make me wonder if I prefer them or if I would rather be at the fair. I think I prefer the pictures, 'cause I don't have an eye for capturing things the way you do.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this. Thanks.
Looks so much fun! Thanks for sharing....
ReplyDeleteThe lop eared bunny is adorable! I don't go see many animals now a days at the fair either. I find out if there are any baby ones and see them and that is about it. I do love to spend hours walking around seeing the exhibits tho. I also go see the rides for photos only.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a great time anyway.
Each photo is a small work of art! Lovely glimpses into your world. The silver light in that first shot is just lovely!
ReplyDeletewhat state?/
ReplyDeleteGreat shots from the fair Sandy. I can't remember the last time I went to the NC state fair. Probably when I took my daughter and a friend. There are lots of things like that I did when she was growing up that I never make a plan and do as an adult thing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love fairs! And what great shots, Sandy! Looks like a fun day! Love that bunny!! Hope your week is off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
I love the bunny, too. What a fun day.

Sounds like your daughter is growing up, Sandy! At least you got some great photos.
ReplyDeleteI reckon these fayres - fairs, are real colourful.
ReplyDeleteThe first shot is so moody.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
Oh I love the hats! The bunny is cute. He looks like our bunny Buster He had huge feet and thumped when he saw someone in the yard that should not be. He was better than a dog for intruder alert and great for my roses. I never had better roses from his fertilizer.
ReplyDeleteWonderful series of photos!
ReplyDeleteGrand shots of the fair! I love the ferris wheel in that golden light. I could go for some of that Kettle Corn!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. The wheel is very huge and it is a fantastic composition.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us with you to the fair. Your last picture is making me wish I had some popcorn right now.
ReplyDeletethe fairs are always so much fun ~ and love the kettle corn!
ReplyDeleteNice pic. Love the first one - qute an atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteLove the captures Sandy. :)
ReplyDeletei bet your kids enjoyed it a lot....your photoss are all great and i like that white rabbit so cute...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful fair, and I love those hats!
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks like an Oklahoma county fair, except for the funky hats. I don't get it but it seems that those style caps have some sort of counter cultural overtones. I've seen young people wear them in July in Dallas. They look cool but hot.
ReplyDeleteI think they would be just the thing in the winter. They would go good with my toe shoes. It would give the kids something new to laugh at.
You have the eye Sandy Carlson. Keep up the good work.
So interesting! I loved to watch those pics! Lovely! :)
ReplyDeletei wanna take home the bunny.:p i enjoy rides since i was a kid--Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, and lots of popcorn.:p
ReplyDeletethe colours are so vibrant!
ReplyDeleteSandy: Very cool shots at the fair.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots. I hope you'll bring us back there with you next year.
ReplyDeleteFairs are fun, especially with young people in tow or towing one around. At least they wanted you around.
ReplyDeleteHey, I was up there on Saturday night. I skipped the kettle corn because I just had some (awful) fish and chips. Should have gone for the chowder in a bread bowl. Came home with fudge but now it is all gone. Who knew fudge could evaporate so quickly?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had fun. I will take some of that kettle corn, thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
