On Easter Sunday, I went for a short walk in around Waterbury before church. At the corner of Church and Grand, I saw this beautiful magnolia in bloom outside the Chase Building, an architectural gem designed by Cass Gilbert.
So beautiful! Our neighbor has one and it its gorgeous! To show you how early spring came to Seattle -- the blossoms on their tree are already gone!!! Hope you have a wonderful day, Sandy!
Lovely magnolia. When they are out in spring, we are often on the road and driving around the backstreets of country towns to enjoy them in the old gardens . In cities of a few million, the lovely old gardens have long ago given way to high rises.
i've been waiting for spring to take photos of the flowers but i can't go out due to my boy...thanks for sharing this it made me see those great blooms

Magnolias and lilacs scream "SPRING" much louder than any other blossoming tree or bush. So pretty in front of such a lovely building.
ReplyDeleteThis magnolia really has a place for itself here. Very pretty indeed.
ReplyDeleteA garden classic. I like one like this with a bit of darker pink in them.
ReplyDeleteI do think the Chase Building is beautiful and go back to a different era of design and construction.
The magnolia and the building are gems. A beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteSandy: We had a few trees bloom too early and have gotten burned from the frost. Yours are beautiful.
