When they're not the blue of your best and brightest dreams, our skies are office paper white--and just as flat. Out for a walk Sunday morning before church, I found myself taking in the details of the Palace Theater's exterior without any trouble at all from the sun.

Gorgeous detail. They don't build em like they used to.
ReplyDeleteSo clear and lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great description of what the skies have looked like for the past few weeks. Office paper white! I must remember that.
ReplyDeleteI love your description of the skies, too! And I love the detail on the building, terrific shot! And, nope, they don't build them like that any more! Hope you have a great weekend, Sandy!

So true... and so odd .. but I noticed that too ...
ReplyDeleteThe also-beautiful side of the blue sky...nice reminder!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. I loved those carvings.
ReplyDeletegreat shot, so detailed.

like your words to describe the blah skies...and how they become a better background for other details.
ReplyDeleteLove the details!

A beautiful sky. Great capture. Love the carvings too.
ReplyDeleteClear, white, great description!
ReplyDeleteAh, now that's a very positive outlook on boring skies, Sandy! Lovely detail on the Palace Theatre. They don't build them like that any more! have a lovely weekend,
ReplyDeleteJanice.
Office papar white is an amazing background for this shot!
ReplyDeleteLook up, there is so much to see. Splendid masonry, when glass was not the main building material!
ReplyDeleteAmazing shot!
ReplyDeleteCrisp alliteration (?) AND shot, Sandy
ReplyDeleteAloha,
Comfort Spiral
The paper white actually looks great in this shot! What a fabulous perspective!
ReplyDeleteWe lived in CT for a year and I remember those flat skies that we sometimes had. You have been very creative with yours! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe more I look at your blog, the more I want to explore. I'm off to look at your book lists.
Beautiful details of the structure!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect sky against which to showcase the beautiful building details.
ReplyDeleteYou do white very nicely LOL.. I've been trying to stick with gray
ReplyDeleteVery typical winter sky. Love the detail on the building.
ReplyDeleteI always like old architectures, a very interesting subject for photography.
ReplyDeleteA different and neat feature for today's Sky Watch.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like so often, the winter days; are the grey days. White and grey overcast skies for days on end. I dream of spring and the warmer days, soft rains, and blue skies. I can't wait Sandy.
ReplyDeleteIf we are stuck with plain white skies, one can at least try to see the poetry...
ReplyDeleteIt is great for details.
Interesting and intricate details of the building, enough to compensate for that paper white skies. Have a great week end now.
ReplyDeleteGreat angle in this view of the Palace Theater. Really a wonderful shot, Sandy.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful building, and very detailed too!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful detailing. You eye catches so much.

Strange but, beautiful for the picture :-)
ReplyDeletePixellicious Photos
Sandy: I have had enough with these colorless skies. It seems the only sure color we get is gray.
ReplyDeleteThat is really amazing! If the skies aren't blue here in Florida, they are grey, but rarely white like that.
ReplyDeleteThe architectural details against that sky, are wonderful.
Our skies tend to be grey rather than white. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteI love the details of the theatre against the blank slate of a sky.
ReplyDeleteNo image, Sandy just the alternate "IMG 1135"
ReplyDeleteWe only see detail like that on old train stations, old theaters, and some old cathedrals. We used to have some classic movie theaters in Chicago, but I think that they ae all gone. Wonderful, Sandy!
ReplyDeletewe are getting some blue skies here: yesterday and today too. wonderful details of the building, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteThe bland sky highlights the intricate detail of the building so very beautifully!
ReplyDeleteWonderful description of your colorless skies ... I'm not sure I've ever seen a paper white sky but I've seen some dull grey ones from time to time.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
I've never thought about it before-but office paper white fits perfectly.
ReplyDeletelove the composition
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
