Skywatch Friday: Basically New England

IMG 0880

This is a view from the home of the Congregational minister at Sturbridge Village. While we were there a few weeks ago, my nephew Adam became suddenly very enthusiastic about religion--because the heat was on in the church and in the parsonage! Smart kid. And a quick mover. Some might call such a view dreary. I call it home.

What a fascinating photo- each individual glass pane seems to contain its own picture. The amalgam leaves a sense of wintery-waiting.

  26. I think this is a wonderful photo. It is so typical of the way we imagine historic New England.

  27. I love how the center pane in the bottom has a slight distortion in it. Reminds me of the "float glass" you find in older homes. And if the parsonage is old, that might be exactly what it is. It almost draws you in like there's a vortex in the middle of the window.

Not dreary at all Sandy. I rather like it actually.

  34. It does look a bit dreary, but at this time of year, even home can look that way :-) We have memories of more light and sunshine to sustain us as we wait.
