My World Tuesday: What it is in Woodbury

What I like best this time of year is the warmth of the sun on my back on a clear and breezy winter day. It's cold out, but I'm not. Spring's far away, but not so far (This idea took me here.). In each small thing is a universe--in the moss and vines clinging to the remains of a white birch, in the small tracks looping around the freeze-dried brush, in the water that runs and freezes with the rise and fall of the day. It's all good.

  1. A beautiful world indeed Sandy.

My word verification is "epring"... I wonder if that's the name for this time of year in some forgotten language.

  2. It looks as cold there as it is here. I, much like you, don't mind the cold and snow. It is winter after all. May the winter winds always be at your back.

  3. It is indeed a beautiful world, Sandy, and there's always beauty to be seen if we take the time to look. Every now and then I get tired of what seems to be endless gray here in the northwest, but the beauty is still there and I just have to remind myself. Your post is one of those wonderful reminders! Have a great week!

  7. Freeze-dried brush - what do you use it for then?

Insensitive creature! I have Complained against thee on my Blog.

Fab winter shots. Love the touch of red in the first one, as winter pics are so often by nature quite monochrome.

  23. I was just noticing today that although there was a bitterly cold north wind, the sun is a little higher in the sky, and we hat big old fat spring clouds in the sky. Give it a month and it will be nice in Oklahoma.

  24. Indeed, it is what and how we look at things and events and season that makes the difference. Have great days ahead, always.

  45. Your perspective about the beauty of a winter day is so true. One the one hand, I hate the cold of winter and the snow that makes it hard to get to work. Yet on the other hand, I can enjoy the beauty of all the snow we often get in Colorado.
