Mom and I froze our tail feathers off while Dell played soccer last weekend. The sky was moody broody, the sun was playing hard-to-get, and the game was good. It's nice when the kid's team wins after one of those character-building stints in the great outdoors.

ReplyDeleteDramatic and beautiful. These are really great. I love skies like this.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win!! Looking out my window as I type- the clouds look like your photo!! I think we may be about to get some rain.
ReplyDeleteBy the looks of those clouds, much character was built.
ReplyDeletePS. Please check your reader if you are not seeing new posts for me. It seems my feed address changed while I was gone. I am posting daily. And most importantly, Rabbit, Rabbit!
Great captures!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Sandy.
I don't miss those days one bit! The sky even looks cold!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies and I can feel the chilly air looking at them. Glad your kid's team won.
ReplyDeleteImpressively dramatic clouds. So are you in full autumn mode now?
ReplyDelete"Character building stints." Hilarious! Pretty clouds, but glad I wasn't building my character with you!
ReplyDeleteGreat cloudy day shots! But I have to echo what Louise wrote! I spent enough time watching soccer games in the cold when my kids were growing up in Montana!! So, yes, I'm glad I wasn't character building either!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great "warm" weekend, Sandy!
Sylvia
I love those big puffy clouds!

ReplyDeleteWow, those are really dramatic clouds. And congrats to Dell. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love skies like that!
ReplyDeleteLoved your outdoor soccer game even if it was bad weather. There is always a better day coming.
ReplyDeleteGreat dramatic skies as long as you can stay warm.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are chilly-looking clouds. But victory is very warming!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win. We have been seeing these same kinds of cloudy moody days. Thanks for sharing your skies even if they are moody.
ReplyDeleteSandy: That is a character building for the parents and kids.
ReplyDeleteFeathered canyons everywhere!

I love the cloud formations.
ReplyDeleteOh the clouds are so lovely. Like the patterns that the clouds formed. Have a nice weekend, Sandy.
ReplyDeletewow, those cloud formations look amazing, threatening and beautiful all at the same time! I am glad that they won. Next you might have to breakout the sleeping bag so you can stay warm! Great pics my Dear Friend

I always loved watching my kiddos play soccer - but usually hated the weather. lol What a great sky though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, dramatic clouds. Looks like everyone had a wonderful time. Congrats on the win!
ReplyDeleteyou are so supportive to sit out in the weather to view Dell play. What grand clouds... if only it was not so cold.
ReplyDeleteSpirithelpers
I like this cloudy sky, it's so attractive.
ReplyDeleteVery much like the skies we are seeing at the moment Sandy... Nice to hear Soccer is being played there :O) With only being 6-7 miles away from Manchester I have two great teams to support Manchester United and Manchester City... I have to admit that I now support them from my armchair.. it is far warmer, cheeper, and sad to say safer.
ReplyDeleteYour skies are looking like ours this week. But they have texture and character!
ReplyDeleteEven on grey days I like this kind of cloud that looks like you could float in and get lost. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shots Sandy!
Carletta’s Captures.
so moody, and poetry-inspiring too
ReplyDeletewow!love those formations!
ReplyDeletedramatic sky and it is looking cold. Go soccer!
ReplyDeletewow! the sky might be moody but the effect is dramatic....
ReplyDeleteits making one's imagination works!
I can almost feel that penetrating cold of the bleacher seats. UGH..I am glad she won under these threatening skies.
ReplyDeleteLook like one of those days where you shiver when the sun goes behind the clouds then say thank goodness when it peeks out and hits you.
ReplyDeleteVery broody skies! happy weekend :)
ReplyDeletesomehow the change of seasons, always finds us unprepared. just like the dark morning and early evenings. time to add another layer even for us desert dwellers
ReplyDeleteprevailing season affect one's moood.....
ReplyDeletemoody broody; what a great way to put it. enjoy those clouds; we dont get a lot around here; ours is called 'fog'
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed you skies, Sandy... even though they were so moody-broody :)
ReplyDeleteWow ... amazing views. Let's hear it for dedication! My compliments to both you and your mom ... and Dell too! We've still got Santa Ana winds blowing here in So Cal (making temperatures hot and dry) but we're supposed to FINALLY get some relief next week. Of course, I'll believe 'drizzles' when the actually appear.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
dramatic sky and it is looking cold. Go soccer!

Not the tail feathers!! Nooooo!!
ReplyDeleteOh. It was a metaphor.
Grim looking sky. I like it!
You got a great picture of the clouds. I'm glad your son's team won the game.
ReplyDeleteIt´s nice to see these and know that you had to freeze yourself in order to get them. It was worth it. They could use some extra lighting on that field!
ReplyDeleteThese photos really make me feel cold! I'm so glad my kids don't play fall sports yet.
ReplyDeleteThose menacing clouds sure do look like they're bringing some less that warm weather with them. The things you do for your kids, eh?
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
