These are some oldies from a trip to New Hampshire (top) and Vermont (bottom) in August. The elegant horse running into the clouds from atop a slightly weather beaten barn made me smile as I filled my tank up at a gas station. The view of Vermont captures one of those "I can't do it justice but I'll give it a try" moments when the haze flattened the landscape into shades of grey that became green where I stood. I love the combination. And I don't mind that the haze blurred the cell towers--even if I did make use of them along the way.

It's been hazy here too, but not as pretty as yours, we've been more monotone. Love the steeple!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot !!Lovely and fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - I love the horse in the sky.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I had to laugh at the notion of shots taken last month being "oldies". But I quit laughing when I saw them. Quit breathing for a second even. Especially the first one.
ReplyDeleteWow, a barn?? I was thinking an old house or church. Great photos!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend.
Marvelous, beautiful shots as always, Sandy! Love the horse in the sky, too! The last one has that brooding, quiet feel that makes you catch your breath.
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF!

Great contrasts in your two photos. And you've elevated 'haze' to a lovely, clever level.
ReplyDeleteHaze can be so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSometimes a photo doesn't do the scene justice but we try anyway. We just have to remember what it was really like.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ..sometimes when confronted with expanses of lush green mountains I fear my shot will look like a postcard ... not a bad thing but not what I want .. these are not postcard-y ..
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful haze, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Those wooden clad houses always make me think of New England.
ReplyDeleteJanice.
The haze outlines the mountain beautifully! The wethervane is neat too and such a beautiful blue sky with puffy clouds!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos.. improved only by they way you describe them and bring attention to the details.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Sandy..
ReplyDeleteAh, lazy hazy days of summer. :)
ReplyDeleteThe first shot really appeals to me - the weathervane against the perfect sky and the cheerful contrast of the yellow on the weathered and battered building.
Carletta’s Captures.
The barn is lovely, and would fit right in my weathervane collection!
ReplyDeleteI took a shot of the mountains week before last, and it looked just about the same.
Run, horse, run! Storm's a coming! lol
ReplyDeleteI love hazy mountain scenes, and haven't been to New England in years and years. The green/grey of this shot is beautiful.
It's really good to have get lazy days sometimes. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteThe haze did make for pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteGood shots of the hazy, lazy and oldy Vermont. Something different.
ReplyDeleteI too had to smile when you referred to last month's images as oldies.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
The weather beaten steeple atop the barn is very beautiful to these weary eyes!
ReplyDeleteI love the horse too, Your mountain scenery is gorgeous even with the haze.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful in many ways.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I love both.
ReplyDeleteI love the old Cupola on the house..reminders of simpler days..great sky shot.

Your shots and words are always beautiful, Sandy... they match you heart!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sky watch
Kind regards, Pam :)
Sandy: What a neat look at that old steeple into the sky.
ReplyDeleteNice view, hazy or not.
ReplyDeletei love the contrast between the two pics My dear friend, the vivid blue of the sky and the haze gray of the mountain make both of them lovely pics in their own right! great job as always
ReplyDeleteI love both of those shots Sandy.
ReplyDeleteWe had a different sort of haze thanks to dust storms this week.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
I like those old weather vanes too. This one looks quite lively with that horse galloping along the clouds. The foggy photo is interesting too.
ReplyDeleteIt is slightly hazy over here too. The photo of the weather vanes looked good on the roof top.
ReplyDeleteIs that an old barn? I thought it was an old church, I noticed the little horse on top and wondered why a church would feature a horse.
ReplyDeleteLovely scenery in the second photo.
Plus I love the big crab in the next post too.
beautiful sky watch photos. Peaceful.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
The first one is my favortie.
ReplyDeleteIt may have been hazy, but the scenery is definitely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is lifted by your photos and the memories they stir in me.
ReplyDeleteThank you my Sistah
Aloha!

A true photographer can make a nice shot out of any situation. Well done. We had a red haze this week!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos.
ReplyDeleteThe tower has an antique attractiveness ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeletelovely images
ReplyDeleteVery lovely, Sandy! Thanks for your visit. I heard that the air in Sydney is a bit better. I am glad that we have no sandstorms in my country( Holland), but this morning I had a chat over the phone with my daughter in Cooktown, and she told me that they have a kind of smokey grey mist in their area. Her eyes hurts and she has a very dry mouth. The sky is invisible where she lives. They need lots of rain over there.
ReplyDeleteThe horse in the clouds made me smile, too! Also a lovely picture of the haze around the mountain.
ReplyDeletethese days have their charm...
ReplyDeleteHaz days, but the barn look interesting in your sky photo.
ReplyDeletelovely mountains
ReplyDeleteNice shots!
ReplyDeleteIt's been clear here and hot.. sometimes i wish for a hazy day too =P
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Yes, I love the weather vane shot. And the haze comes in handy when the cell towers distract from the natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteVermont was hard to do justice to - such a beautiful spot!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the clouds are molding themselves around weather vane in that first shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
