Skywatch Friday: Calm Evening

IMG 7560

Just an ordinary evening at the bottom of the hill. Here's where I wait for the geese and the turtles and the frogs, watch the fishermen, make a phone call or two, watch the flag take shape in the breeze, and listen for the insects that say night is here. I like ordinary. A lot.

Before I got to my piece of heaven last week, I enjoyed this view of the sky along the way:

Very peaceful. I love going in my back yard at the end of the day and relaxing in my hammock. Or any time of day, actually!

Ordinary is good. I think it's a special gift to appreciate everyday life. Consider yourself blessed. ;-)

Ordinary is good -- how else could we determine extraordinary?

I am jealous of your "bottom of the hill." Although, I do have the Columbia River nearby and all our paved trails throughout the city . . . so maybe just a little! Ü

we used to have peaceful woods behind our condo when we first purchased it Twenty years ago.than the state of Ohio put in the long though abandoned freeway connection for I-480 to downtown.a lot of trees and land was removed and now we get to listen to freeway traffic all the time.

What would life be without these "ordinary" pleasures. Your spot for watching the geese, frogs and turtles looks like my kind of place. I love it!

It's in the ordinary that beauty was first created. And your pictures are far from ordinary. Only the feelings....Great post Sandy.

It may seem so ordinary but it makes for a beautiful photo. I can almost feel the silence and imagine it myself by the way you've described it. Thanks again for the visit.

It amazes me how "ordinary"things can build an "extaordinary" life.
I guess that explains how someone who loves the ordinary, "a LOT"... has become such an extraordinary young woman.

who would not enjoy such view. the day seems to be ending when you took this shot, but it remains refreshing.

Great shots! Looks like a peaceful place to get ones thoughts in order! But you didn't find any geese and frogs this time!

Thanks for visiting! Tried to visit you earlier, but had a bit difficulties loading your site!
