This is my favorite memorial statute at Riverside Cemetery in Waterbury, Connecticut. She is so vibrant, so sensual, so alive. So young. So sad. I love the way she unselfconsciously insists on life, is life.
There is something very poignant about this statue and you summed it up so well in this post. I also love the way you showed us her hair, the tilt of her head and the expressive face through the photographs.
She is incredibly beautiful! What great shots! You've allowed us to see all angles -- in more ways than just the photos and she does indeed match your words!
She looks lovely Sandy. I loved some of your previous blogs, esp about the kids reading at school! Good on you for encouraging them. It is hard to believe that kids need to be encouraged to read these days, but I guess that is the case, with so many other things to distract them!
Wow! We are going to have to start calling you the sculpture lady. You do such a great job photographing these various sculptures up in Connecticutt. This one I label wistful.
