Skywatch Friday: Roxbury Tangle

Twisted Apples

I haven't left the boneyard yet. There was plenty to see and enjoy there. Color me morbid, but I love these places were the trees get a bit of a break and grow as they please for as long as they can. These graceful limbs captured my imagination. It seemed to me they were responding to the same music as they grew.

  1. This tree is beautiful, it looks like a very profound symbol or two people dancing.

Nothing morbid about something that artistically beautiful.

  2. Lovely! They could be dancing, or throwing their arms wide for a big hug about to happen. Marvelous trees!

  3. The trees did take some twist and turns as they go larger. Nothing wrong with spending time in a bone yard, they can be very fascinating.

  4. nice sentiment of the music and of course in a way very true because they did respond to the same orchestration of the elements-and seasons growing right next to each other in harmony

  5. These limbs do seem to hear their own music and create special "body" art in response! Great photo!

  23. I agree. Nature is so often constrained and managed. A bit of chaos works well.

  24. Is that kinda like a Zentangle? (I've only recently discovered that those have a real official name.)

I don't think it's morbid at all to like naturally occurring trees. Quite the opposite in fact. But I suppose the "morbid" part comes from the fact that you were in a cemetery at the time, huh? Big squeaking deal. Tress grow where they grow.

  25. As I scrolled down, I saw that someone else said it looks like they are dancing. That was exactly my reaction. So appealing and beautiful.

  30. Loved the idea of trees growing up with music to make their shapes. The trunks on this photo are very interesting and one wonders what really has shaped them that way throughout the years that they have been standing there growing ever bigger.

  31. It reminds me of my Pecan Trees, all brambly and twisted and happy!

  45. There is something about a boneyard, especially the older ones that changes us. We become more contemplative. Everything slows down, and our thoughts change.

  54. actually wonder how the trees decide to curve right or left. they just form it beautifully.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Let's them grow. As in their natural element.
That way they can grow their own way to reach the sun light.

    ReplyDelete

  63. I was going to say it is clearly a picture of two trees dancing, when I saw the first commenter had already said that. But I wonder if it would have been as clear if you hadn't captured the movement in this frame, nice shot :)
