Dusty and faded, Waterbury, Connecticut, has a patina that makes it familiar, down home, and somehow lovable. Here are some images of the light dawning on the old and venerable (tired?).

ReplyDeletethose are really good shots..the old/venerable things somehow conjures sentimentality. I've seen a similar eagle somewhere someplace and it always remind me of USA.
ReplyDeleteMy world and knees is not what you imagine, eagles knees too come to that. Venerable, a word not often used now, but so apt for these reflected older building.

ReplyDeleteIt's not the be's knees in question here but those of a stone eagle with human shaped knees. Still a statuesque figure is that eagle.

ReplyDeleteLove these, but especially love the first one. You just can not compare what they're building now with what they built back then. The word character comes to mind. I'm afraid these times seem to be sorely lacking in character - in more than just buildings.
