The only way to warm up when I'm just out the door on a single-digit morning and waiting for the bun warmers to heat up is to start from the top and pop a few cinnamon Tic-Tacs. That's thanks to dad, who supplied me with a half dozen packages when Della and I stopped by last week. The heat is an illusion, but on a cold day, that's okay! (This container caught my eye because I never saw them so lined up so neatly.)

Hmmmm I think I have used this method of warming before. I like to toss a little cinnamon in my oatmeal on a cold day. Hmmmmm It must be breakfast time this is sounding better and better.
ReplyDeleteVery clever :-).
ReplyDeleteYummy way to keep warm! :) Happy WW
ReplyDeleteSometimes, illusions are good. They help us to get along. Sometimes, the illusions go by a different name too. Hope.
ReplyDeleteThat's one flavor of Tic Tacs that has not surfaced in Singapore yet.
ReplyDeleteWish it'll be available here soon :)
Reminds me of when I was little and my Dad carried cinnamon flavored gum and you'd always get that warm little burst of flavor when you first bit into it.
ReplyDeleteMMMMM...i love that flavor! Great "pattern" in the tic tacs!
ReplyDeleteThis is a sweet way to warm up on a winter`s day.
ReplyDeleteIt's really time that spring arrives that we don't need to heat up ourselves !
ReplyDeleteWatch out, David McMahon! That's a great shot, Sandy!
ReplyDeletePeace - D
I love those little balls of fire! Now if they'll only make them with splenda...
ReplyDeleteSandi
Maybe I should pick me up some of these! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I would have never thought of that. Hope you aren't freezing.
ReplyDeleteA warm (and lovely-colourful) cinnamon Tic-Tac on a cold day... Perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a handy way to warm up. I'll have to try some.
ReplyDeletewow a new idea to warm up. it's 24 degrees here this morning-cold air from canada but it will warm to the 50s later in the day and the sun is shining-HURRAH! I love sunshine-comes from living in California in my youth. have a good day...
ReplyDeleteAnother thing typical American. We can't get cinnamon mints over here.
ReplyDeleteWeather here is just starting to cool down again and I am not sorry, I may be able to have another go with the new skates - if only the blisters from the new sneakers will go down...!
Yeahright. And a smile makes a great umbrella too. Except for the getting wet part that is. Other than that, it works just spiffingly!
ReplyDeleteI love cinnamon mints tic tac! You have an eye for pure art ...
ReplyDeleteIt's 37 here. Houston doesn't usually get very cold weather, so we welcome this ... as it's cold but not too cold.
They look like berries.
ReplyDeleteAny way to warm up sounds good. I recall that it was sub-freezing much of the time I was in China, though things here in California are starting to warm up a bit.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to see the red Tic-Tac pattern out of context (i.e., without the label).
I just bought some Jelly Belly Cinnamon Jelly Beans... I wonder if they'd work, too?
ReplyDeleteAnd cinnamon altoids are great for that too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photograph...beautiful imagery. It's so cold here today that that rich red color does look HOT!
ReplyDeleteIf this is a recipe for warmth, I will buy cinnamon Tic Tacs! I could use some in the office most days!
ReplyDeleteI liked that you took the ordinary and made it extraordinary by using a macro!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
I've never seen them before. THey sound tasty!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I will have to try that, anything to keep warm! The way the tic tacs are all lined up is interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by cyberbones. It is a left hand drive vehicle but don't worry had stopped to take pictures of the workers in the rice field when my husband snapped a picture of himself in the side mirror. BTW our steering wheel was on the wrong side for Indonesia so we got quite a lot of stares. Happy WW!
Hi Sandy, we also have these TicTac here in the Philippines! I also like them especially the mint flavor! Your dad is very thoughtful! Nice photo, the pattern is interesting!
ReplyDeleteIt would appear that I get much colder than you do... I'm not thinkin tic tacs would help. But, the "seater heaters" inthe car certainly do the trick. On the other hand... anytime you can taste cinnamon is nothing but good.
ReplyDeletehmmn Dual purpose things are great! Mini Warmers and Art!
ReplyDeleteRed is such a great color for a candy! I am in love with the red and yellow tic tacs. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo but I don't think I would like to eat those mints. "Artificially" flavoured? Blech, what's in 'em I wonder... I do like cinnamon but only in savoury stuff, like curry - yum! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteDeep rich healing red!!
ReplyDeleteMMMMMMMMMMM. . .
Please check out my blog on thursday, I'm curious about your "take." Aloha, Sandy!
Very nice! I think we have Tic-Tac here too.
ReplyDeletecinnamon tic-tacs?! wow, we are so far behind here :))! I only have some cinnamon flavoured tea...
ReplyDeletewow! sadly we dont have that here in the philippines.
ReplyDeleteMs. SANDY CARLSON,
ReplyDeleteYou have used the metaphors like:
single-digit morning;
heat is an illusion.
It's quite writerly narrative. I liked it.
I would love to read more from you.
I have read some of your posts. I liked the same and would like to revisit your website.
If you like short stories and paintings, then a visit to my blogs would be an interesting one for you.

I go many times a year in Italy, and I've never seen this Cinnamon taste in stores. As Ferrero (It) is the manufacter, I'll be more watchful in February when I'll go back.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, just watching this deep red in the pack, one feels better.
I don't think we have that flavor here. I like cinnamon and I want give that a try.
ReplyDeleteLately I am drinking cinnamon flavoured coffee!
ReplyDeleteLove tictacs-but never had cinnamon. I'll have to be on the look out for them!
ReplyDeleteYou fooled me. On my reader screen they looked like cherry tomatoes. Tic tacs are good though. Pappy
ReplyDeleteYummy ... I love cinnamon tic-tacs!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Thanks for being here.
