The weekend ended with some snow, freezing rain, and rain again. Before today, though, the sun shone softly and beautifully on the ice forming on the pond at the bottom of my road. It's a beautiful, peaceful time of year.
Inwardly be free of all hopes and desires, but outwardly do what needs to be done. Without hopes in your heart, live as if you were full of hopes. Live with your heart now cool and now warm, just like everyone else. Inwardly give up the idea "I am the doer," yet outwardly engage in all activities. This is how to live in the world, completely free from the least trace of ego. (Maharamayana)

Great picture. It has turned cold and nasty in my part of Alabama. Hopefully we will not see anything like your picture. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this. I like photos that take what is nasty weather and turn them into simply fascinating photos. The two lights in the back and the little rocks in the front hold down all the water in the composition.
ReplyDeletethere is beauty in each season...when we look for it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of the ice forming on the pond.
ReplyDeleteA transitional time of year. And a good time to ponder the beauty in every season and nuance of nature. You accomplish that Sandy, again and again.
ReplyDeleteHugs, G

I envy you and your snow. We haven't had any yet. Today was supposed to get to 60 but we had fog all day -- well until about 3:00 and then it got dark so who knows if it went away. . .
ReplyDeleteYour photo is soooo neat! I like the contrasts between the water, snow and ice. Just a beautiful memory!
That ice is to thin for ice fishing! Beautiful photo and writing! :D
ReplyDeleteI like the quote. It looks like it can give more support than the ice can! Here it is not that cold bow, we had some sleet yesterday, but no frost.
