A beautiful post and a really charming picture, Sandy. About Lourdes, this year is the 150th Anniversary of the Apparitions. The young Bernadette Soubirous met (saw and spoke with) the Virgin Mary 18 times at Massabielle Grotto, from February to July 1858. The Virgin Mary appeared as a marvellous girl about sixteen years old, dressed in white and with a shining rosary on her arm. Since the first apparition the Virgin Mary smiled to Bernadette and there was immediatly a great friendship between them.
There isn't anything that makes me feel more at peace than an truly gterat shot of snad, seagrass, sandpipers and the ocean,. This is a lovely photo. Needs no words at all to speak to me.

I could however use a good proof reader if you know of one. What the heck was that last post saying, anyway. I can only hope that you'll interpret with kindness.
Hi Sandy, I like your boat. It must be out of gas to have been rowed ashore, LOL. Happy WW! .. I don't know what started the Lourdes thing, but Mrs. Jim and I spent a nice morning there one time. We got in a lot of walking. ..
I've been enjoying your site and photographs. We've had rain every day since the middle of June and I'm so tired of grey skies...thanks for giving me a daily lift!
Still hanging out at Topsail or did the trip just supply you with enough photos to keep you going for months? The NC coast can do that for you... There's a serenity in this shot sitting comfortably next to solitude. Nice job. -Mojo
"Row row row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream" - That's what sprung into my head as soon as I saw that little boat. Lovely photo as always Sandy.
There's beaches (like my little lakeside patch) and then there's THE BEACH. This is the real deal. I think I need to take a vacation...in the meantime, thanks for this windy sunny fragrant moment!
Although it's a scene I've seen on the beach many times, it's like seeing it new for the first time through your eyes. Wonderful shot. You are such a gifted photographer.
You have to let me have that boat so can fix'er up lol! Beautiful photo Sandy you have such great works you should enter in my Creative Photography contest! :D
I am sure you had plenty of "artistic" response to this pictures. But I am barely close to being an beginner. But I wanted to say I loved this one. The way the boat almost creates the frame from the inside. Especially with the plants leaning in the wind.
I love that row of grasses - I think you said they were sea oats? I like the way they repeat the motion of the waves in the background, and create a clear foreground/background.
Cute title for a beautiful WW shot....just a few things where are the oars and didn't the sand make a mess out of the motor? :) Juts joking. This is a site I would not see often in WI. Mine is up at The Cafe.
Sandy, is this the full photo of on that you might have cropped earlier... it looks familiar. It is so beautiful, the colors, the feeling of serenity. I love it! :)
The geometry of the boat, especially those little rectilinear colors, juxtaposed against the asymmetry of nature makes for such a comfortable feel--man in his element.
I just got a flashback of being in P Town, Massachusetts with my ex 4 years ago! We had so much fun on the beach, on the artist's strip, and in the sand dunes. He took me way out into the ocean on this tiny little boat... I thought we were both gonna die! ;)
