My favorite flowering tree and one of my favorite flowers in general. It's funny because the Dogwoods have been blooming along the shore and in lower Westchester for a couple of weeks, now. I am enjoying a second season for them 'up north'
It looks like you have some Burning Bush mixed in there. Should be good in the fall as both plants have good color.
Sandy, do you know the legend of the dogwood tree? Legend has it that Christ was crucified on the dogwood tree and ever after the bloom formed in the shape of a cross and the edges of the petals were tinged with Christ's blood... Happy WW!
Ah yes, Sandy, Internet technology - an absolute necessity! I assume Charter Communications is your service provider and you're not that happy with it! I heard yesterday that we internet users should not be subject to the vicissitudes of the internet providers and should be able to rely on internet service like we rely on phone service or better! Yes!
Happy WW/WT, Sandy! You have found a very pretty dogwood flower. Ours here in Southeats Texas have come and gone, the redbud tree has 'beans' about to ripen, they were flowering in February also. ..
Simple and beautiful. That's what comes to my mind with this photo.
Thanks for comming buy my site. I recognize your photo as I post each week and look forward to your words. It's nice to see a regular visitor! Peace be with you!
I don't know what they're called but reading through the comments made me realize it's called dogwood. I wonder why. It bears no resemblance to dog or wood. I've always been interested in how things get their names.
