Here is one of the many tulips my delightful little nephews gave me at the reception for Strange Attractions on Friday evening. Nine-year-old Alex said to me, "Aunt Sandy, I thought graffiti was what people write in bathrooms on the walls and was ugly stuff that ruined things. I guess it can be nice, too." His young mind is bigger than the labels and assumptions that are out there.

Sandy, that's an absolutely gorgeous tulip! What a nice thing for your nephew to say and do. I got some nice comments on my Weekend Snapshot (Bronx graffiti). Come see! Hugs to you!

Congratulations on your photo show "Strange Attractions." Wish I could have seen your photos and meet you in person. When are you going to bring your photo show here at the West Coast? I visited the Digital Flower Pictures blog. What a beautiful story written about your and your photos. More success to you in the future.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just? Out of the mouths of babes...
ReplyDeleteI still have, in plant pots in my garden, carnations that my son bought for me as a child (well, I think mum bought them) and I planted them and they took root. My favourites though, are a pot of grasses which he picked himself one day, aged about 4 or 5, and presented to me. Those grasses turn such beautiful colours and change every season. He is now 18.
Great shot of the tulip. Lovely colour. But it's what it means and who it's from that counts isn't it?
