ReplyDeleteWow, how big are they? We have sculptures dotted through our city strrets (Wellington NZ) and my girls love to see them and touch them. Perhaps I will use them for a WW, thanks for the idea!

Good questions, Mary! You must be an awesome teacher. These are metal sculptures. I took the pictures Sunday morning when the light was soft. When I rounded the corner of the building, I noticed the pattern of tree branches on the windows created another version of these images. I wondered if the sculptor was inspired by tree tops.
ReplyDeleteIt does make me think of graffiti. Both are abstractions displayed on walls!
I was thinking of how nice it is that a public building is host to such work. Courthouses can be intimidating; it's nice this one calls us to remember something fine in ourselves as we drive by or pass through the doorway.
I can see why you stared. Trying to figure out how it's made would cause one to stare. Looks like old bed springs with the gold pieces attached. Okay, I'll admit it, I know nothing about art. Have a great WW. :)
