One Single Impression: Weed

From After Hurricane Irene in Woodbury, Connecticut, August 28, 2011
Weeds:

We find not their use or beauty;
We abandon their names
Though their colors give shape
 And fragrance
 To summer.

  3. Any plant growing where you don't want it is a weed. Having said that there are few plants I think of as weeds. They are all beautiful in their own way. Like people.

  6. We can find beauty in so many things if we just take the time to look. I love the warm yellow color and the droplets of rain/dew! A wonderful reminder, Sandy! Hope you have a great Labor Day Weekend! Enjoy!

  14. To me this is a sad poem, Sandy. About a beautiful, in its own way, throw-away-plant.

    You could be writing about the hundreds of thousands--could be milions--of throw-away people in the world. Or stray animals.
