Our few days on Topsail were gorgeous. Temperatures were in the mid-40s, which was balmy after some very cold and windy days in the land above that paradise. The Carolina blue skies were intense in the winter light. Before the sun was completely out of bed, I enjoyed stepping out and enjoying the play of light on the grasses and palms before my parents' home. Winter seems to turn the world into a work of abstract wonder--all shape and shadow intersecting in one magical masterpiece.

ReplyDeleteDriving home from Kohls yesterday I was thinking if I turned around, I could be at the beach in 3.5 hours...you came to mind. I travel on I40 all the time. Still blows me away that if I turn right I end up in CA and left...Wilmington.
