One Single Impression: Dawn

As with night
So with dawn:

The yawning
And reaching

But now

With music

There is the opening
To light

Slowly, quietly

Like the turtle
That carries the weight
Of the world
Across the damp grass
To the deep pond

To slip in and be clean
To rise just enough
To bathe in the light
And to eat

Whatever the air offers

And call it good

Because it is enough.

The quiet stillness
Of the turtle

Tells you it is so.

  6. Yes, I agree, too. "Because it is enough." And it is, we only need to be able to recognize it, appreciate it and make the most of it! Have a lovely weekend, Sandy!

  18. "...because it is enough..." which is why the turtle has seen many dawns -- it is wise.

    Great verse.

  19. And in the stillness, it is enough. I like the way you weave the journey of the turtle into your poem. Carrying the weight of the world across the pond. Maybe their life is much simpler?

Sandy, thx for visiting my blog. I never knew I was a morning person until I left the music business. Your meditation on the turtle actually helped me calm down tonight. "...and call it good/Because it is enough." Wonderful!
