Today's Flowers: Rose of Sharon

Rose of Sharon

The Rose of Sharon trees at my parents' home have produced an abundance of blooms this year. They have kept the bees happy.

  8. I like this color. I usually see white or pink. I always think they look like they are made of crepe paper. THey look so delicate but are very hardy plants.

  9. I saw one of these at the garden centre and couldn't resist bringing home a white one. I'm glad to hear you call it a 'tree' because I bought it to cover an ugly spot in the house's foundation LOL and hoped it would get big!!

  10. I didn't realize those grew so far north. We have them all over the place down here, but I thought they were a warmer climate loving species.

There's a HUGE one in my side yard. Hasn't done much the last few years though.

  18. Oh how I wish I could grow a Rose of Sharon. My mother has tried and tried to no avail either. We just must be in the wrong agricultural zone which is Zone 3. Great photo!
