My daughter's high school's agricultural academy sold poinsettias to raise money for its program. They were beautiful, healthy plants, and I was happy to buy three. The girls running the show were all business, but they did a great job wrapping the flowers and protecting them from the cold.

A worthy project, and a wonderful Mom you are!
ReplyDeleteI love the white poinsettias, too. They are beautiful. I hope that your daughter's class was able to raise exactly what was needed to meet its goal.
The Poinsettia got its name from the first U.S. ambassador to Mexico, Joel Robert Poinsett. He found the plant in Mexico and introduced it to the United States in 1825.
ReplyDeleteWhite Poinsettias are quiet seldom ! At least here in Belgium.
ReplyDeleteThe girls had to be proud that you took three plants, Sandy. A first for me seeing White Poinsettias! Cool!
ReplyDeleteFlowers are always beautiful, more so the pure whites. The youngsters are on their way into the rudiments of business. It's good to give all the support! Nicely Sandy!

They are a nice decoration for Christmas. It is good that some org can benefit from your purchase. Be sure your doggies don't eat them.
ReplyDeletevery beautiful, sandy!

Very nice, I love poinsettias also. Especially when we pick them up I wander about and check them out.
ReplyDeleteI love white poinsettias!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to buy something you want and contribute to this great cause at the same time. My husband was a vocational education teacher, but now in so many places those programs have been discontinued; we hate to see that. Glad Adele's High school excels in academics and vocational programs!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful white poinsettia.
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty in white! I like them too but unfortunately they are poisonous for cats so I can´t have one at home...
ReplyDeleteNice photo!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty in white. Selling poinsettias is a great fundraising idea, methinks.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy, this is gorgeous! Sorry I am so late commenting but I have been hard down with a bad cold these past two weeks and am just surfacing.
ReplyDeletethese lovely plants are a wonderful thing to sell, much better than candy, me thinks ;-)
ReplyDeletelovely holidays to you ~
I seldom see white poinsettias in Singapore. There are lots of red poinsettias decorating the shopping malls now.
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful! I've always loved the red ones, but the white ones are lovely too.
