I took this photo with my phone while I was kayaking with my daughter on the Intracoastal Waterway last month. This was one of those photos that didn't look anything like what I saw. It's silly, but I have to remember that the camera is not my eye is not the moment's r in the kayak. The elliptical shape of the sun is nothing like the drifting orb I saw. Still, the light in this image illuminated clouds I know I didn't notice at the time. It's all good, and my little HTC is fun.

The sun appears to be searing the sky. It is most difficult to capture a scene as one sees it.

ReplyDeleteTo know that the moment we capture is nothing like the one we see and feel with our senses is very wise, my friend. I love the title you've given this one. Liquid Light. So beautiful...

ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful shot. I know what you mean about photographs that aren't like what you saw. I have that happen to me too.

Very fine Sky Watch post, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely -- I'm often surprised as well when I download, but not as pleasantly. (Usually my surprises are telephone wires or something similar, that my eyes just blanked out.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely memory of a kayak trip. We live very near the Intracoastal when we're in Florida .... come on down ;>)
Great pic, I'm really not into a literal expression of what I see with my eyes. I freely modify the pics I take, especially with my phone, to get the effect that I like.
ReplyDeleteTerrific capture.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a huge ball of fire. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI like the view! Today's cameras, even the small ones, have a greater tolerance to bright light and darkness than our eyes.

ReplyDeleteI have so much technology to catch up on, Sandy. It amazes me how many friends I have who can manipulate through so many apps. This too is a gift! Have a great weekend! :)
