I love violets. They are sweet and beautiful and close to the ground and humble and bright. It's a nice surprise when the grass turns purple in spring. They don't last long enough.
I have a few blue ones too. yesterday I sprinkled slow fertilizer on them. Hope fully it will help them. But the ground is hard so I don't know. It might need weeding and new soil as well.

Perfectly said. There are no "humble" flowers in Florida; I miss them. Our daughter always e-mails me on the day she wakes up to a yard full of violets (in Oregon).
