Clyde likes to get to the beach every couple of months, and he was bummed to miss out on Carolina over the Christmas break, so we got his bad little self to Hammonasset Beach over the weekend to soak up some sunshine and feel the sand on his little paws and to hear the surf. He said he heard Topsail calling. (I'm working on it.)

I love seagulls. They are the greasers of the beach, the sky, the parking lot But they are very good with humans. Spend a little time with them and you realize their attitude is really just a look.

Della is the queen of the whelks. She finds shells everywhere. This is the one of them.

A cool thing about the beach in winter is the cold and the warmth that swirl around you at the same time and create mud here and leave crusty snow there.

Remember I said gulls are good with humans? Check this out. This couple was treating the birds to Sun chips.
