Della came across these ducks enjoying the sunlight on the trunk of a tre that had fallen across the river, but Clyde's jangling tags sent them across the river. I had a hard time seeing them through the glare on my camera, but I aimed and shot and got a sense of some very beautiful birds.
Clyde is such a handsome little man. He knows how to get some cheese. :) The Mergansers are beautiful ducks. Those big bills are always amazing to me. Glad you finally got to get outside for awhile.
Sandy, what a lovely walk. Clyde is a cutie. And I believe your ducks are female Mergansers. They are pretty birds. It is nice to get out after being stuck inside with bad weather. I enjoyed your photos, thanks for sharing.
Ah-h-h, you found some common mergansers! Did you notice that they are long and low like Clyde with a pointy Nose/beak? I can see autumn is coming on there. I am so glad you were able to get out and enjoy it! Did this lovely weather inspire a poem? How about the ducks? It's hot here in Tucson, but we have birds, and poetry as well!
