We're all about Halloween and Adella's birthday and preparing for natural disasters when the end of October roll around. The three have become a family tradition. Last week, we did the graveyard tour in support of the Glebe House's All Hallows. This past weekend we celebrated Della's birthday with the family at Elenni's (best food in Woodbury and the only pizza worthy of the name), and at home with, oh, eight howling, gabbing, giggling girls who can fill six hours with nothing but friendship and fun. And food. From Elenni's. This was last week at Glebe House in the center of town.
This is what I created to pass the time before my little pumpkin's girls came over.
Speaking of pumpkins....after the sun set and the neighbors tucked themselves safely inside their homes, we hoisted this boy up and let what would pass for some very sweet kids by daylight knock the legs of this guy and then eviscerate him. It wasn't pretty. There were gobstoppers and Crunch bars everywhere. His own mother wouldn't recognize him!
What will Hurricane Sandy bring us this week? Stay tuned and stay safe.

You are having just too much fun. :) You be safe. We only have a bit of wind from the big storm. Sounds like your area could be much worse.
ReplyDeletea bunch of kids hopped up on pizza and candy - who could ask for more? :)
ReplyDeletelooks like fun for the kiddies, hope you escape damage by the hurricane!

ReplyDeleteps. ~ we are currently waiting for the worst of hurricane to arrive and hopefully pass quickly and with safety for all ~
Whoopppeee!! It's fun in Sandy's world for sure!! Stay safe and keep us posted!!
ReplyDeleteThe Hurricane is certainly putting a damper on many things even more so than the economy.
ReplyDeleteOne wonders why things have to be fixed if the same thing will happen a few months later.
It's like all this is happening on purpose.East is hurricane and west is
earthquakes.
Ah, your little pumpkin's birthday. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou know something here in Oklahoma we are supposed to have very bad weather, extremely hot summers, very bitter cold winters, tornadoes, dust storms, and other vexations. We don't have anything like what you have gone through the past couple years, freezing in the dark, hurricanes, winds, and such. And now hurricanes with snowstorms.
You have made somebody mad.
Yes. Life.
ReplyDeletePlease have you all a good Tuesday.
I hope the hurricane is leaving you unharmed.
ReplyDeleteToo bad what happened to your pumpkin boy but I guess the kids had fun! :))
Tell your hurricane to behave! LOL

ReplyDeleteHope you come through the storm OK. I imagine a number of the Halloween decorations will up up in different states by the time the wind stops!

Did you ever think there would be a hurricane named "SANDY"? I hope you are all safe there, glad it is somewhat over now. Pizza would be my selection for a birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to Della!
ReplyDeleteHope it has passed off completely!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm!
Great pic of the pumpkin man. He brings a smile. :)
Beautiful post my friend.
ReplyDeleteJulie and I send our Thoughts and Prayers to blogging Friends and everyone - who is in the path of Hurricane Sandy across the big pond - Hope all is safe and sound - God Bless you all.
Sending hope that you are safe and dry. Not crazy about that storm family tradition ..I think you shoul lose that one (as if you had a choice). Take care. Love the idea of the pumpkin man piñata ...fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sweetie. I hope your namesake hurricane was kind to you.
ReplyDeleteFun! Was that the boy you made that got hoisted?
ReplyDeleteHalloween is so much fun! Makes me wish I still had kids at home. Schools have gotten so stodgy about this holiday that it takes all the fun out of it. I know there are some good reasons...remind me again what they are? :-D
ReplyDeleteHave fun with Adella and her girls!
fun fun fun
ReplyDeletemakes me smile
