Our World Tuesday: Wild Neighbors

From July 9, 2012
Mother and child were grazing in the meadow out front the other morning. They saw us the way nobody buzzing along in their automobiles ever does. They seemed to pause for the photo before they moseyed along. It was great.

This little lady was waiting for her flamboyant sweetheart in his red suit of feathers to pop out of the bushes, but he was playing hard to get, so she moved along.

Back at the beach, we discovered a second turtle nest that had previously been discovered by the folks who make sure these things stay as safe as they can be.

I love morning and all the promise they hold. Golden and delightful.

  6. A wonderful morning walk. It's really true how much more a person sees on a quiet walk....

Love the oat grass in the last photo too -- I fell in love with it when we drove up the Atlantic Coast a couple of years ago.

  8. Wonderful, I'm not a superstitious guy but anytime I come across a deer it makes me feel something great just happened. Thanks to you and your previous posts I know what a marked turtle nest looks like.

  13. I like the captured look on the face of the mother deer – it’s an "I see you" look if ever I saw one!

I think any form of walk in the early morning is the best way to start the day.
