I love fresh flowers, but I feel sad when they start to fade out. This morning I combined my Mother's Day bouquet with my mom's. I trimmed stems and cut off leaves in the hope of extending the lifespan of these roses as well as the subtle and lovely flowers that fill in the background.

yes, we honor them by holding on. Then it feels strangely liberating to give them up, clearing the decks for new blossoms and joys!

loving lovely roses...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, lovely colors, wonderful captures and a great way to start my day! Hope you have a great day and, if you're in South Carolina, stay safe from the storm!
ReplyDeleteThey are still beautiful. I like Cloudia's comment. It's true, I do what you do extend their life, then when they can give no more, it feels good to me, to let them move on.
ReplyDeleteI am the same and I seem not to be able to make them last very long. We received several bouquets of stunning flowers for our wedding and I only got them to last a week. It was such a shame, I almost cried...
ReplyDeleteLovely capture of beautiful roses.;)

Yes I find roses have a short shelf life. But beautiful while they last!
