Today's Flowers: Spring Speaks Softly

From March 24, 2012
From March 24, 2012

I stepped out back this afternoon to watch the pelicans diving for their lunch in the Intracoastal Waterway when these flowers caught my eye. My internal Yankee calendar has not yet adjusted itself to take in these marvelous blossoms showing themselves in March. The M-month I equate with color outside is May. It's a happy adjustment.

Although it would be a pleasure to see these beauties in May, it's a double pleasure to see them in March. Welcome to Dixie!

Oh, a delight to see such exquisite flowers any time, but particularly in March! I know you are enjoying your move more and more each day, Sandy -- particularly with access to beauties like these!! Enjoy!

It is sort of a shock to see little blooms in March, at least for those of us farther north. Those are beautiful little flowers.

It is a happy adjustment == although every Spring I have to do it all over again. But as soon as I make the mental change I am happy!

You're things should be out early with the waterway. We've been in the 80's. Things bloom and fade quickly.
