Our World Tuesday: A Little Dampish

We had a rainy weekend. The tornadoes making their way east shook out the dirt hems of their dresses over Topsail. I stayed in for most of the weekend.

Friday had been incredibly foggy. The thick air reminded me of the forest fires of last summer and the heavy cloud they had cast over the island.

I asked one of the gulls about the weather. He didn't want to talk about it.

This guy was tired of the papparazzi and vamoosed when he saw me coming with my camera, even suffering the company of the little peeps for a while.

Despite the weather, I took a little ride down to the Quartermoon Bookstore for a smoothie on my daughter's recommendation. It was excellent; I drank the glass dry.

  1. glad you are staying dry and taking such lovely photos, like your phrase shaking the dust from her hems-so descriptive...

  2. Beautiful photos, Sandy. Such a somber and sobering time further east. I'm glad you escape any worse than the dirty hem.

  3. I'll even take a grey day at the beach. My son and his friends went down to Carolina this weekend. Now I see what they saw :)

    Have a good week!

  12. I smiled at this post, especially that photo of a gull who doesn't want to chat with you, he's feeling cold. It would be much nicer if some of those waters can just pour in here, as we started our dry season with already a very unusually high temperature of 34.5C. I am scared for April, we might be getting the unexpected.
