(The miracle in this poem was for me the moment this child lived a haiku poem though she was disengaged from the beauties in our textbook. She had an enlightened moment, though she didn't see it that way when I pointed it out to her!)

It's wonderful to be able to help children recognize the beauty in what they have seen and their ability to express that wonder in words.
