There's nothing like a day near the water, especially in an unpretentious place like Topsail. The happy face below greeted me on my morning walk. I admired his "feathered" hair style.

After an afternoon of photographing pelicans, I made my way back to the store to get some food for supper. Crossing the high-rise bridge, I did a no-no and snapped a few random shots of the setting sun. Braver souls have pulled over to take photos, but I haven't managed that feat yet.

Back at the laundromat-lounge bar, things were cooking on Thursday. Another party I missed.

A beautiful collection of images, Sandy. That pelican catches my breath.. and that little hairy, sand face is just so endearing. Did you do that.. or simply happen upon it?
ReplyDeleteDid you draw the face in the sand, or another did.. even so fun! :) And the pelican who drifts away in the air, so lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove that smiley face. It must be the hair. ;)
ReplyDeleteI smiled and smiled at this lovely post. Thanks.

Beautiful post. Ha ha, I am so sorry you missed the karoake in what sounds like an ideal place ;>). (If you are like me, if you had gone, it would have ruined your otherwise perfect day.)

Catching the setting sun while on the fly is a pretty amazing achievement. Sounds like that party behind the Laundromat is one you were perfectly happy to miss. Seems like a lot more fun hanging out by the smiley sand art. :)
ReplyDeleteDear Sandy, beautiful post in images and words, what a lovely day.;)
ReplyDeleteGreat last lines.;)

I was just thinking that it is time to head to the beach for a winter walk. The ocean air rejuvenates me, nourishes me, keeps me sane! I'd be framing that last shot!
ReplyDeleteI like the smiling face too.
ReplyDeleteLove your last picture and the quote - my kind of life!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots from Topsail. The first one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, love love that last photo! Wow, wish I was there. And Van Morrison, the words still as fresh as ever.

So Sandy, my question is; where is home for you? Connecticut, or North Carolina? Which place tugs at your heart and fills you with longing, and lets you relax and "be" when you are there?
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
