The osprey sings of the hunt
To her hungry young
And feeds them.

The deer breathes lightly
On the trumpet lilies beneath the osprey nest
And vanishes within.

The turtle stretches his neck
In the direction of the deer
And steps toward the dawn.

Great white egrets step and stare
Step and feast.
The sun rises.

Wind and current engulf me,
Telling me to go, go, go
Deeper.
