This sign is stuck in the mud in the intracoastal waterway behind my parents' home in North Carolina. Always, always, always, there is a bird perched on the sign. Usually, it is a pelican. The presence of this cormorant suggested me a shake-up in personnel. Or an opportunistic cormorant who needed a rest. With the subcontracting that goes on these days, you just never know.

I love it! And I love your sense of humor! This was a night when I needed a laugh! Thanks, Sandy! Have a beautiful tomorrow!

Hi Sandy!
I'd much rather have him/her as the Manager than most people.
Great capture!
Wonderful post Sandy, and a great Header too.
That bird is either asserting its authority, or its claim to a convenient resting place ;)
reminds me of my hubby and I who have a special pew we like to sit in at church. Sometimes if we arrive late, it's taken by earlier birds...lol!
Funny, I think he is the assistant pretending to be the boss for a day.
Or the bouncer? http://looseleafnotes.com
I remember the first time I saw a cormorant (not that long ago) I had to look up what it was. nice captures.
Beautiful shots!
lovely captures. i like your blog header too.
Thank you for sharing your world, so beautifully captured! xoxoxoxoxo
Love it! I love Birds. Happy WW :)
Thank you for sharing the beauty of your life!
That's all my boss does, too.
I like the manager : )
how fun that there is always a bird there. Love the character of this one.
Pelicans are not birds we see over here, so to see them gliding together over the waves like you've captured them in your header is magical.
Maybe the sign in your post needs to be changed to under new management. A really nice set of photos.
I think you are right, this guy seems to know his job is on the line and is taking his management duties very seriously.
great serene shots.
He probably was on a higher perch so that he could possibly see a comely lady. He has those Crests up. Cute picture and commentary.
Following the leader. Works well in B&W.
How peaceful a sight he must enjoy.
Please have you all a good Thursday.
The Manager looks as if he is busily checking things out from his vantage point. Great pictures.
great post and commentary!

Sandy: Fun capture of the cormorant. I do love the speed of your pelicans and also the waves.
Good man! He knows his business lol
and we think we are the only ones who know how to do things?
lol
Great pose! We have a few cormorants hanging around our local pond too.. depleting the fish population. I hope they move on soon, lest there not be enough incentive left for the herons to visit.
