OK, Southerners, please introduce me to this fragrant beauty! It grows at my parents' home in North Carolina, and its fragrance seems to capture everything clean and beautiful and full of love and hope that makes April the wonderful month it is.

ReplyDeleteBut lovely to look at! I love pink, and I thought yellow was my favorite, and the other day, as if someone else was saying it, I say,"Turquoise is my favorite?" Now who said that? Or is every color my favorite?

ReplyDeleteLooks kind of like a crabapple flower (but isn't). The little bud behnd the open flower looks like a delicate rose.
ReplyDeleteIf these were steel I'd know. I produced the play and built the set on the stage in New Jersey. The movie starred Dolly Parton, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis, Julia Roberts, Tom Skerritt, Sam Shephard et.al. Might be wrong, but there are 210 species and this looks like a few of them.
ReplyDeletePlayed a little joke on one of our favorite players. Put some vaseline on the earpiece of the stage telephone on Weezer's beauty parlor counter, and printed a small card which was revealed when the player lifted the phone and put it to her ear during the scene. It said "Wet Paint".

ReplyDeleteSandy I'd have to see more of the leaves to venture a guess and even then I'm not sure I could I.D. it but it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteSandy the more I think about it the more I think it may be nerium oleander. You can go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nerium_oleander and see what you think. There are oleanders that don't look anything like this but it does look like that one to me.

i only remember of two flowers with natural scent. it proves nature as best for its great aroma.
