Dunes
Sea oats
And sand fence
Make borders
The sea
Remakes
With every breath
In every moment.
There are no limits,
No closing off,
No here and there,
Then and now,
Earth and water,
Love and loss,
This world and the one we dream.
There are only shifting sands.

Beautiful, Sandy. This could be my defining poem - Life Everchanging.

love sand dunes, we have some awesome natural ones near the lakes, that are endangered now and need fences for protection from we humans.
ReplyDeleteIt is just gorgeous Sandy!!!!
ReplyDeleteSandy, I didn't know there was sand fence even though I may have seen some. It looks very similar to snow fence.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bit here is "no limits,
no closing off." This appeals to ones, and my, desire for complete freedom.

Sandy, I was thinking of you and patti when I was writing my first effort that I didn't post. It was about a grammar student complaining that he was bored, writing that he was getting border and border.
ReplyDeleteThe teacher corrected him by her not saying that he should use boreder instead.
..
amazing...
ReplyDeleteI love the imagery of the beach. Another beautiful poem Sandy.
ReplyDeleteSandy, those shifting sands push those borders around with time. It is funny how they change especially when we think we have built those borders with stone and they crumble and are rebuilt with sand as wisdom would call for.
ReplyDeletei dig the poetry of the image and the image projected by the accompanying poetry :D
ReplyDeleteVery impressive photo and great poem. If we see the earth from the space, we will find one blue planet without any borders.
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully written Sandy- and so true-"With every breath
